Pay-Per-Click Search Engines
How can you access 100 million web
visitors in under 30 minutes? It's called Pay-Per-Click.
Google Adwords is the largest PPC search engine on the
web. If you're not familiar with the Adwords system, you
can actually be in front of millions of Internet users in
only a few minutes. It isn't always cheap, but it's very
targeted.
So how can you setup a successful adwords
campaign? Well, Gaston says that the key to adwords is to
pay the lowest possible amount per targeted click and
still have a high click-through-rate (CTR). "The two
things you need to focus on," Gaston says, "are
finding keywords that will give you the most return on
investment (ROI) and well written ad copy that encourages
people to click on your ads."
The reason is simple. Google Adwords is a
bidding system. If you want higher rank on the paid
listings (which is the far right column on Google), you
pay more for that particular keyword. But exactly how much
depends on your CTR. Google has figured out that if people
are clicking on your ad, then it must be more relavant to
what they were looking for than the other ads. So for your
efforts, Google rewards you by charging you less than what
the other guys are having to pay - and the difference can
be staggering.
A good way to get a large list of keywords
is to use tools like GoodKeywords and Google's new
Adwords Keyword Tool. Both are very effective in building
a large keyword list of 1,000 or more keywords. After that
it's just a matter of testing the keywords to see which
one's are giving you the best ROI.
